What this site is

Savvy Peptides is an independent research digest covering three peptides — retatrutide, BPC-157 and thymosin alpha-1 — under a single organising question: how to read peptide studies critically, in terms of models, endpoints and effect sizes.

The editorial premise is that most confusion in this field is not caused by missing information. It is caused by information arriving without its design attached. A rodent result and a phase 3 result look identical once they have been compressed into a sentence, a surrogate marker and a clinical event become indistinguishable once both are called an "outcome", and a single-blind trial and a double-blind trial are both simply "a study" by the time the claim reaches a summary. Restoring the design to the claim is almost the whole job, and it requires no laboratory training — only the habit of asking what was compared with what, in how many of whom, measured how.

Every quantitative statement on this site is followed by a bracketed number that points to a specific paper on the references page. Where a claim cannot be traced to one of those papers, it is either stated qualitatively or not stated at all.

How the pages are built

Each compound page follows the same arc, so the three can be read against each other: a plain-English summary, what the compound is, how it is proposed to work, what the research shows organised by the design that produced it, reported effects and cited cautions, and finally an appraisal of where that compound sits in the wider question of reading peptide research.

The research and cautions sections are kept deliberately separate from the community-reported material, and every passage summarising community reports is labelled as anecdotal, not clinical evidence, in its opening sentence. Those reports are included because they are a real part of how this field is discussed and because omitting them would misrepresent what a reader will encounter elsewhere — not because they carry evidential weight. They carry none. They are unmeasured, uncontrolled, collected from people using unverified material without oversight, and they are reported here without any accompanying dose.

The seventeen papers behind this site were drawn from audited compound reference sets rather than assembled by searching for supportive findings. Six of them are paywalled at source [9][11][12][13][14][15], which is itself an appraisal problem worth naming: a paywalled paper is usually met as an abstract, and an abstract systematically omits the randomisation method, the dropout accounting and the pre-specified analysis plan — precisely the parts that appraisal depends on. None of the seventeen is a preprint; all are journal-published, which is a floor rather than a guarantee.

What this site will not publish

There are no products for sale here, no clinical services, and no referral relationships. Nothing on this site is medical advice.

More specifically, this site does not publish doses for people to take, reconstitution or preparation instructions, administration protocols, cycle designs, or guidance on obtaining any of these compounds. Doses that appear in these pages are always descriptions of what was administered in a cited study or reported in the clinical literature, given so that the study can be understood, and they are never recommendations. Where a common question would require crossing that line to answer, the question is answered by explaining why it is out of scope rather than by quietly leaving it out.

The regulatory position of all three compounds is stated on every relevant page and is not softened. Retatrutide is investigational and approved nowhere. BPC-157 is not an approved medicine anywhere, is prohibited in sport at all times, and is sold for laboratory research use only. Thymosin alpha-1 has no United States marketing authorisation, although it is approved in more than 35 other countries [14]. Material obtained through unregulated channels has no verified identity, purity, concentration or sterility, and that is true regardless of what any study says about the molecule itself.

Corrections are welcome, and the standard applied to a correction is the same one applied to everything else here: a specific paper, and the design that produced it.
